Dr McClelland is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine based in Belfast. He undertook his medical training at Queen’s University Belfast and has extensive experience in the assessment and management of patients across the full spectrum of Emergency Medicine, including minor injury and major trauma. He is the Minor Injuries Lead for Emergency Departments within the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.

Dr McClelland has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injury and concussion. He has over 10 years’ experience working in elite sport, including as a team doctor for Ulster and Ireland rugby, and as a Match Day Doctor for the IRFU, where he is involved in the assessment and management of in-game concussion and soft tissue injuries at elite level.

Dr McClelland’s clinical practice includes the assessment and treatment of a wide range of injuries arising from road traffic collisions and personal injury.

Dr McClelland provides independent medico-legal reports in personal injury cases, with particular expertise in concussion, mild traumatic brain injury, and musculoskeletal injury.
